I guess they are swimming in so much cash they can ignore millions of vr gamers thirsty for content. If vr fits anything, it is piloting vehicles of any sort. That tells me whoever is making that decision has never tried vr.or Vox. Originally posted by Oh Heck:Not sure if vr is the right fit. I'm in a full server almost every night and see new players every night too. When you add the Oculus numbers, there's quite a bit more every day. Most of the player base seems to be on Oculus, I think partly because the Vive wands aren't comfortable. But them saying they can't do it isn't the same as them not listening to those that want it.Īs for SteamDb numbers, those numbers only track Steam users. They've said no single player, but they are adding 2 player missions. Well I think there's a bit of a language barrier here, so I apologize. International gamers will end up refusing to play MP because of LAG. Single Player Games last longer on VR, and those are the ones that actually fill the Multiplayer games later.Īlso single player games attract even larger audiences as Multiplayer games restrict the area to gamers with low latency that are near the Server´s location. I´m checking today SteamDb Stats and the game is clearly with extreme low number of players:Īs the OP said "once the novelty wears off the game gets old pretty quick". Maybe they could just reach a point of maturity of the game in Multiplayer and think carefully to start developing Single Player. I understand they are a small team, but there are way too many games today with small teams doing Single Player and Multiplayer games. Originally posted by Michelangelo:well is not misinformation, they actually denied to do single player campaign. I do hope their co-op missions help you find that experience you're looking for, but spreading misinformation about the developers is helping absolutely no one. Their successful sales that have allowed them to continue developing, move into a studio space, and begin hiring more hands are a direct result of the multiplayer game they've created. They're adding HOTAS support and coop missions specifically in response to fans like you. I've personally seen and heard them talk about how much they'd liked to have the means to do a singleplayer campaign and how they hate that a subset of mech fans feel left out because of it. That two years would be far more likely to produce a polished, meaty, successful multiplayer experience than it would a good campaign. It would be two years to do well and they are independent, which means no paychecks during that time as sales trickled due to lack of multiplayer updates. They explicitly said they'd love to but that it would require them to completely change course, which means abandoning all the fans that bought it for multiplayer and are clamoring for more content. In my opinion this needs a good Single Player Campaign with Good Progression and maybe a Mission system like MW4:Mercenaries.īut Developers keep denying these opinions sadly :( I don't think "deny" is the word you're looking for. Originally posted by WreckLuse68.something with some depth for the Grown-ups. Certainly no game is for everyone, but as a fellow mech lover, I know how hard it is to scratch that itch, so I'd be happy to help the game click for you if possible! Just last night I wrote up a series of tips and tricks on the subreddit that might give you some insight into where the depth of the game is at. The game is most certainly for grown ups, given that the community is pretty 100% 30 somethings/dads playing after the family is all in bed. I've invested a ton of time in this little gem, basically all of my limited time that I have for gaming, and I wouldn't do that if it was just a simple VR tech demo. Tuesdays we have our community events and you'll have at least a full server with a lot of good players on. If it helps, a lot of the better players that I'm familiar with seem to be on in the late evenings around 10-1 EST. It becomes a very different game when you're playing on Salvage or Stockpile with two skilled teams using a variety of mechs and voice chat. I usually recommend the Goldrush or Hopper for new players to really find the fun of the game, but unfortunately, most jump immediately into the Dredge. There's also been a lot of new players recently (I think from the rave review it got on PC Gamer last week), so I've seen a lot of newer players doing just that too, even without bots. I think a lot of new players join into an empty server, hop in the biggest, heaviest mech, and just stand there shooting at bots. Well you're certainly welcome to join in with some of the more veteran players and we can show you where the depth is in mastering the game.
